GoldenEye

Plot

Goldeneye Film Poster - AllPosters.com

You were expecting someone else? James Bond is back in action and goes up against one of most dangerous enemies yet, a man who knows the rules and problems of being a 00-Agent: 006. James Bond is sent in action to find out who has stolen the powerful GoldenEye system, a piece of technology that has the ability to fire down on a selected location and destroy everything with an electronic circuit within a five mile radius.

Caroline: James, is it really necessary to drive quite so fast?
James Bond: More often than you’d think.
Caroline: I enjoy a spirited ride as much as the next girl.
Caroline: Who’s that?
James Bond: The next girl.

Along the way 007 encounters an ally in former Severnaya technician Natalya Simonova, and encounters an array of deadly villains in femme fatale Xenia Onatopp, General Arkady Ourumov, and the one who knows him best: Alec Trevelyan aka 006.

Bond is on a mission in the Soviet Union with 006 when the plan goes wrong, 006 appearing to have been killed by General Ourumov. Bond cuts the time set on the mines in the facility and makes a miraculous escape. 9 years later... James Bond is evaluated by the new M and meets up with the sexy Xenia Onatopp while on the road. They later meet up in a casino in Monte Carlo, as the introductions are given over cards. Bond leaves, as does Xenia with an admiral - whom she later kills with her powerful thighs during lovemaking.

James Bond: It appears we share the same passions...three, anyway.
Xenia Onatopp: I count two, motoring and, baccarat...I hope the third is where your real talent lies.
James Bond: One rises to meet a challenge.

The next day Bond goes to investigate and finds the dead body of the admiral Xenia has killed. Bond traces her to the public showing of the Tigre helicoptor, the only helicoptor to be resistant against all forms of electromagnetic disturbance. Xenia and Ourumov, disguised as pilots, steal the helicoptor, as Bond is restrained by the guards at the demonstration.

Bill Tanner: Seems your hunch was right, 007. It’s too bad the Evil Queen of Numbers won’t let you play it.
M: You were saying?
Bill Tanner: No, I was just uh...
M: Good, because if I want sarcasm, Mr. Tanner, I’ll talk to my children thank you very much.

Xenia and Ourumov take the helicoptor to Severnaya, killing every technician in the bunker except for Natalya Simonova, who has escaped and Boris Grishenko, who joins them. They steal the GoldenEye and set it to fire on Severnaya; and then leave. Natalya survives the blast, all of which is witnessed over a computer screen by Bond and the MI6 staff at headquarters. Natalya later escapes from the facility.

James Bond: Are these pictures live?
M: Unlike the Americans, we prefer not to get our bad news from CNN.

Bond is sent by M to find out who stole the GoldenEye and what they plan to do with it. He meets CIA agent Jack Wade, who assists him along the way, as well as an old acquaintance Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky. Bond then later meets Natalya and the two become allies to eachother throughout the rest of the mission. They escape from Ourumov and his men, and Bond eventually learns that the leader of the crime syndicate behind the thieft, Janus, is none other than his past friend, now turned enemy 006, Alec Trevelyan. Ourumov is later killed by Bond.

M: You don’t like me, Bond. You don’t like my methods. You think I’m an accountant, a bean counter who’s more interested in my numbers than your instincts.
James Bond: The thought had occurred to me.
M: Good, because I think you’re a sexist, misogynist dinosaur. A relic of the Cold War, whose boyish charms, though wasted on me, obviously appealed to that young lady I sent out to evaluate you.
James Bond: Point taken.

Bond and Natalya locate Trevelyan, Xenia, and the second GoldenEye dish in Cuba and quickly travel there. Bond kills Xenia in a vicious fight and then goes after Trevelyan with Natalya. Bond is captured, and 006 explains his plan to electronically steal from the Bank of England and then fire the GoldenEye on London - wiping out all traces of the theft. Natalya's genius with the computer system quickly slows down the process, as Bond and Trevelyan engage in a long-running fight and chase. The GoldenEye is eventually destroyed, and Alec is killed by Bond and the crash of the dish.

James Bond: In London, April’s a spring month.
Jack Wade: Oh yeah? And what are you, the weatherman? I mean, for crying out loud... another stiff assed Brit, with your secret codes and your passwords. One of these days you guys are going to learn to just drop it.
Jack Wade: Jack Wade, CIA.
James Bond: James Bond, stiff assed Brit.

Bond and Natalya are finally given a moment of time alone after the event, only to be interrupted once more by Wade and a group of well-hidden Marines.
