Goldfinger

Plot

Goldfinger Film Poster - AllPosters.com

James Bond is back in action on takes on one of the most daring villains he has ever faced in his career: Auric Goldfinger. Goldfinger has crafted an ingenius plan to make him a very wealthy man for a very long time. Quite simply, destroy Fort Knox. With the gold in Fort Knox contaminated from a bomb explosion, the vale of Goldfinger's gold increases many times over.

Bond: Goldfinger...sounds like a French nail varnish.

From Europe to Fort Knox, Kentucky, James Bond travels the world on a mission to stop the all-powerful Goldfinger from completing his magnificent, but horrific scheme. Bond meets several others along the way including Jill Masterson, who gives new meaning to ‘Golden Girl’, Tilly Soames, who has more of a backround than she initally divulges, Pussy Galore, the beautiful and efficient personal pilot of Goldfinger, and Oddjob, the mute, but completely lethal manservant of Goldfinger.

007 is recovering from a previous mission in Miami when he is contacted by his old friend Felix Leiter of the CIA. Bond has been sent instructions by M to observe Mr. Goldfinger, who is at the very same hotel Bond is staying at. Bond later views a cardgame Goldfinger is playing and finds out when he lets himself into his hotel room and sees a beautiful girl named Jill Masterson helping Goldfinger to cheat with binoculars and an earpiece. Bond takes control, forcing Goldfinger to lose and then spends some time with Jill. Jill is later killed when her entire body is painted in gold paint by Oddjob, who has knocked out Bond earlier. Bond awakes to the sight and then later reports to M.

Hawker: If that’s his original ball, I’m Arnold Palmer.
Bond: It isn’t.
Hawker: How do you know?
Bond: Because I’m standing on it.

Bond then later plays golf with Goldfinger, and again stops Goldfinger from cheating to win by tricking Goldfinger at his own game, and swtiching two golf balls. Bond wins the match, and receives a stern warning when Oddjob demonstrates the lethal abilities of his bowler hat, which is able to slice through a statue nearby. Bond then follows Goldfinger and meets Tilly, who is the sister of Jill. Tilly is trying to kill Goldfinger, but she eventually gets herself killed by Oddjob. Bond is later captured and placed with his legs spread apart on a metal board in one of Goldfinger's technician rooms. A laser slowly moves from the edge of the board to Bond’s body. Bond manages to escape the painful experience by mentioning ‘Operation Grandslam’, which he heard earlier and is then knocked out.

Bond awakes to the face of Pussy Galore, who explains that she is Goldfinger's personal pilot and is then taken to Kentucky. Bond meets Goldfinger and discusses his plan. Goldfinger will spray a deadly nerve gas named Delta 9 with a dawn raid of Pussy's personal pilots over the area of Fort Knox, then break into Fort Knox and detonate a bomb - ruining the gold held there, and making his own collection increases many times in value.

Bond: Do you expect me to talk?
Goldfinger: No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!

Bond manages to impact Pussy with how grave Goldfinger's plan is and the plot is foiled. An attack led by Felix and others is set into action as Goldfinger breaks into Fort Knox. Bond manages to also kill Oddjob in a magnificent fight inside the vault, and the bomb is stopped with only seven seconds left.

Bond: You know he kills little girls like you.
Pussy: Little boys too.

Goldfinger is later killed by Bond, who had thought he was on a trip to the President, and Bond and Pussy then relax on their own; after ditching the crashing plane.
